O palco da festa
Parque do Povo is the epicentre of the Campina Grande São João. It was built in the 1980s, when the city council decided to professionalise the June festivities, and enlarged in 2024 to nearly 40,000 square metres.
Since 1987, the world's largest São João has been on Brazil's official tourism calendar.

In recent editions the festival has run for more than a month, spanning June and reaching into late May and early July, drawing more than 3.5 million people.
The nights of 23 and 24 June draw the biggest crowds — on one of them, more than 100,000 people passed through the park.
