Como chegar a Picãozinho

Boarding is on the Tambaú seafront, by the promenade. There is no land access: the pools are out at sea, and the only way to reach them is by boat trip.

If you are staying in Manaíra, Tambaú or Cabo Branco, the departure point is a few minutes away on foot or by car.

A maré manda no passeio

Picãozinho only forms at low tide. As the tide table changes every day, the trip's time changes with it — early morning one day, mid-afternoon the next.

So there is no point picking the day and then looking for the trip: the right way is to read the week's tide table and fit the rest of the itinerary around it. Lower tides expose more reef and give a larger area to swim in.

What to bring

Sunscreen (preferably reef-safe), water, a waterproof camera if you have one, and water shoes or rubber sandals — parts of the bottom are reef.

Take little: the boat has limited space and you will spend almost the whole time in the water.
