What the weather is like in June
According to INMET's climate normals (1991–2020), June in João Pessoa has an average high of 29.2 °C and low of 22.3 °C, around 369 mm of rain over 20 days and 165 hours of sunshine.
It is the wettest month with the least sun: around 370 mm over 20 days. It also cools slightly — lows sit around 22 °C.
What to do in June
- Forró nights at Parque do Povo in Campina Grande, about two hours away.
- June festivals in João Pessoa's neighbourhoods and centre.
- Corn food — pamonha, canjica and cake — on every corner.
- Beach when the weather clears, without counting on it every day.

Events and crowds
Campina Grande's São João, billed as the biggest in the world, fills the whole month. Rooms in Campina become scarce and expensive, so many people stay on the coast instead: beach by day when possible, forró by night. That is why June is in demand in João Pessoa for reasons that have nothing to do with the beach.
Is June a good time to go?
Worth it if São João is the goal — and then book early, because demand is real. If you only want the beach, June is the worst month to gamble on the weather.
